book stores.

packaged with a CD?
- No, the game box will not be packaged
with the hard cover book, nor are we
doing a mini-CD promotion with Rainbow
Six.
What does "Free Unlimited
Internet Play" really mean?
- Rainbow Six can be played on your local
network, or across the Internet. You can
set up your own server, or connect to
someone else's server on the Internet, or
use a game service like the Internet
Gaming Zone and Mplayer.
Normal Internet connection fees apply.
What does "Rainbow
Six" stand for?
- It's a fictional force, comprised of the
"best of the best" of special
forces from around the globe (hence the
name "Rainbow"). Six is a
military term meaning "leader".
In the book "Rainbow Six" is
John Clark. In the game, you as the
player are "Rainbow Six."
How do you play the game?
- The game has two stages, a planning stage
and an execution stage. The first stage
is where you plan your team's position
and your attack. Then there is the
execution stage, where you put your plan
in action. You play in first-person mode
to finish the level.
How many people can play
online in a game?
- You can play 16 player competitive, 8
player cooperative online. In the single

How many characters are
there?
- There are 20 unique playable characters,
each with different skills such as
leadership, marksmanship, and stealth.
How realistic is the
"realistic combat?"
- R6 uses three health states: dead,
incapacitated, and wounded. No health
bar, no magical medpacks. Any weapon can
cause any of the above effects,
regardless of caliber or body armor. That
means one shot with a 9mm can be deadly
to anyone, anytime (especially
well-placed shots). Or it could have no
effect at all.
Can you pick up enemies'
weapons?
- No. You should have enough ammo and
sufficient weapons for the job. This is
not like any other first person shooter-
running around with guns blazing is one
of the surest ways to get yourself
killed. Besides, you should never trust a
weapon that you did not load yourself.
Do you respawn after you die?
- In adversarial multiplayer, no, you are
dead and must wait for the mission to end
(there is a time limit involved, so you
won't be waiting around forever).
In
cooperative multiplayer, you can take
over any other player that is run by the
AI.
In single-player, you take over an AI
character (until all the characters are
dead...)
Can you see the gun in 1st
person view?
- No. The main purpose for a gun in first
person view is for aiming purposes. You
will have a targeting reticule on the
screen at all times, sometimes large
(like if you are running or wounded, you
won't be able to aim as well) and
sometimes small (for when you are still
and concentrating).
What weapons can I choose
from?
- We are not releasing the complete weapons
list at this time, but you can see some
drawings in our media section.
What's the deal with MMX?
- If you don't have supported and effective
3D acceleration, you must have MMX. If
you have 3D Acceleration, MMX will
enhance the sound capabilities.
Can we use other weapons like
martial arts, knives, or tripwires?
When is the demo coming out?
Can we create our own
missions?
- No. Our levels are created with original
art within 3D Studio Max.
